What is the purpose of Delegate in ServiceNow?
What exactly is the meaning of delegate?
I will give you a real time example…You may know that I am originally from India but in 2011 I played a T20 Cricket serious representing Czech Republic (more details here).
The game is played in Slovenia and I was representing Czech Republic so I can say I was a delegate or I was representing Czech Republic for Cricket.
ServiceNow Delegate
In ServiceNow, the “delegate” feature allows a user to temporarily assign their work to another user.
This can be useful when a user is going to be away from work for an extended period of time, or when they need someone else to handle their work in their absence.
When a user delegates their work to another user, the delegate takes on responsibility for completing the work and is able to access the necessary data and resources.
The original user can still see their work and can choose to reclaim it at any time.
To use the delegate feature, a user must have the “delegate” permission, which is typically granted to administrators or other users with a high level of access to the system.
How to Delegate in ServiceNow
To Delegate, go to user profile- on the bottom there is a related list field called “Delegate”. Click new to delegate
